BERLIOZ: The Damnation of Faust

Berlioz's dramatic legend breathes new life into Goethe's timeless tale of love, temptation, and ruin. Our version will combine the power of the Eugene Symphony Chorus with digital imagery, crafted especially for us by Harmonic Laboratory, projected on the interior surfaces of Silva Concert Hall to create an innovative and immersive performance experience.

About Harmonic Laboratory
The Eugene Symphony is proud to collaborate with the contemporary arts collective Harmonic Laboratory in this ground-breaking production of Hector Berlioz’s ‘La Damnation de Faust.’ Visual animator John Park will be using ‘projection mapping,’ the process of stretching and masking projected light onto the architectural features of the Silva Concert Hall, to illuminate Faust’s haunting tale of seduction and damnation. The projected visual imagery for this production will move light and picture off the stage and into the environment of the performance hall so that audience can both hear and see this epic tale at a grand scale.
