Prokofiev: Peter and the Wolf

Round up your kids or grandkids for Sergei Prokofiev’s classic tale of a young boy overcoming his fears! Peter teams up with his friends — a bird, duck, and cat — to defeat the threatening wolf and make it home by supper. With a story that will warm your heart and music to inspire young, curious minds, this is sure to be a memory-making afternoon for everyone in the family.

There will be two shows, one at 1:30pm and the other at 3:30pm.

Join us before Peter and the Wolf for fun, interactive, and family-friendly activities!

  • Scavenger Hunt: Help us find all the characters from Peter and the Wolf. Hiding all around the Hult Center, follow the passport to locate wooden cut outs, made by SparkLab, of Peter, Wolf, Duck, Bird, Cat, and Grandpa!
  • Instrument Petting Zoo: Our Instrument Petting Zoo is back! Get the feel of a cello and a violin with this hands-on opportunity.
  • Choreography Station: Antonio Anacan of #instaballet will be joining us as the concert's Movement Leader, guiding all attendees through movements associated with each character. Join him in the lobby before the show to learn the movements ahead of time and help those around you!

Learn movements for each character!
Enjoy this video below where Eugene Symphony Music Director & Conductor Francesco Lecce-Chong and Movement Leader Antonio Anacan teach us movements for each Peter and the Wolf character: the bird, the duck, the cat, grandpa, the wolf, and Peter! These movements will also be taught during the concert program.
