Internationally renowned conductor and early music expert Nicholas McGegan leads the Eugene Symphony for the first time in a program of music from the 18th century, with guest violinist Julian Rhee.

This concert marks the world premiere of First Symphony Project Composer-in-Residence Angélica Negrón’s Symphony No. 1, complemented by Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto with guest violinist Kaila Wakao.

Pianist Claire Huangci will sweep you away with Rachmaninov’s Third Piano Concerto alongside the PNW premiere of First Symphony Composer Gabriella Smith’s ONE.

Our season of storytelling comes to a close with Maurice Ravel’s balletic masterpiece Daphnis et Chloe, with guest clarinetist Carey Bell, who is a Eugene native currently serving as Principal Clarinet with the San Francisco Symphony.

We begin a brand-new tradition of ringing in the new year at the Eugene Symphony. Joined by worldwide YouTube sensations Peter and Evynne Hollens and other special guests, Francesco and the orchestra will surprise and delight you with Broadway hits, Strauss waltzes, and George Gershwin’s eternal An American in Paris. Plus, stick around after the concert for dancing in the lobby or a jazz lounge in Soreng Theater, and raise a toast to 2023 at midnight!
