Students Learn Connection between Color & Sound

EUGENE, OR (December 14, 2018)— This Monday, December 17th at 9:40 a.m. the Eugene Symphony Association is partnering with Imagination International, to bring a 2-Day Art & Music Workshop to Springfield elementary students. Artie the Art Bus will visit Elizabeth Page Elementary school giving students an interactive and artistic experience. The program is free of cost and allows students to learn about the connection between visual and performing arts. Students involved will learn through listening to Symphonic Music, and creating artwork inspired by the music. Artist Melanie Pearson will present these workshops for nearly 50 students. This project is part of the Eugene Symphony’s ongoing community work leading up to their The Color of Sound performance in April of 2019. The cutting-edge multi-media performance will highlight the collaboration between visual arts and music. Select student artwork from this project will also be on display at the concert!
