Yvonne Hsueh, a native of Los Angeles, currently residing in Eugene, Oregon, is Principal Second Violin of the Oregon Mozart Players in Eugene, member of the Eugene Symphony and the Sunriver Music Festival in Central Oregon
She has been the Concertmaster of the Newport Symphony and has performed with the Siletz Music Festival, Chintimini Festival and the New Hampshire Music Festival.
She is an active symphonic violinist, recitalist, chamber musician and soloist as well maintains a successful studio.
She has appeared as soloist in Columbus and Cleveland, Ohio, Florence, Yachats, Salem, Eugene, La Grande, Monmouth, Portland, Cottage Grove, Newport, Lincoln City, Corvallis, Oregon, Lethbridge in Alberta, Canada, Plymouth New Hampshire, Pheonix Arizona, Natchez, Mississippi, Austria and the Czech Republic. With Orchestras including the Oregon Arts Orchestra, Oregon Mozart Players, the Oregon Coast Chamber Orchestra, Portland Jewish Orchestra, Western Oregon Symphony, Salem Philharmonia, Willamette Valley Symphony, Salem Pops Orchestra, Salem Concert Band, Mt View Symphony, Newport Symphony, Lane Chamber Orchestra, Northwest Bach Ensemble, Pfaff Ensemble, Eugene Community Orchestra, and Simi Valley Orchestra. Ms. Hsueh has been on the music faculty of Western Oregon University and is currently on the faculty at Lane Community College. She has served as Acting Concertmaster of orchestras from the Rogue Valley to the Portland area and in the summer of 2011 toured with the Oregon Arts Orchestra as Concertmaster and Soloist in Bad Ischl, Eisenstadt, Vienna, and Prague. The summer of 2013 she toured as soloist and concertmaster in Rome, Venice, Milan, and Florence, Italy.
Ms. Hsueh received her B.M. and M.M. degrees in Violin Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Oregon. Her early pre-college training was at the Colburn School of Music (where she studied with Margaret Shimizu and Rick Schwabe); with studies including: California State University - Northridge (with Joseph Genualdi), and Meadowmount School of Music (Margaret Pardee), New York.
She performs on a violin made by Gregg Alf. She also performs on baroque violin made by David Gussett. Aditionally, she is an avid alpine skier and certified instructor. She also enjoys cycling, going to the gym, running, swimming and hiking.
