The Eugene Symphony seeks an energetic, relationship-driven Development Manager to help grow philanthropic support for one of Oregon’s leading cultural institutions.
This full-time exempt position leads the Symphony’s annual fund, grants program, direct mail campaigns, recurring giving efforts, donor acquisition, and donor pipeline development. The Development Manager works closely with the Director of Development, Executive Director, and development team to increase donor participation, strengthen donor retention, secure institutional support, and identify future major gift prospects.
The ideal candidate is organized, collaborative, outgoing, and passionate about building relationships. They are equally comfortable writing a grant proposal, analyzing fundraising results, meeting with donors, and helping execute a successful campaign. This position leads the Symphony’s donor events, stewardship initiatives, sponsor hospitality, donor recognition programs, and audience engagement efforts. Working closely with the Director of Development and Development Manager, the Events & Stewardship Manager creates meaningful donor experiences that strengthen relationships, increase retention, and support the organization’s fundraising goals.

Below are the positions we will be auditioning for and the date for the auditions. Click on the position to see the audition repertoire. All auditions will be held at Lane Community College in Eugene, Oregon.
SECTION VIOLIN: September 14
Five Core Complement Section positions including three First Violin and two Second Violin
VIOLA: September 15
Four positions including Core Complement Assistant Principal, one Core Complement Section, and two Full Complement Section
TROMBONE II: September 16
One Core Complement Section position
BASS: September 17
Four positions including Core Complement Assistant Principal, one Core Complement Section, and two Full Complement Section
TRUMPET II: September 18
One Core Complement Section position

Check or money order only. Payment should be made payable to Eugene Symphony Association. Indicate your instrument on the memo line (e.g. accordion audition deposit). Deposits will be returned at the audition. Deposit is forfeit for cancellations made within 7 days of audition.
Applications and deposits must be received no later than August 14.
Service Guarantees
2026/27 Season Service Guarantee for Core Complement members is 66 services, and for Full Complement members is 22 services for a full season of employment. Service Guarantee for winning candidates will be pro-rated according to start date.
Wage Scale
For the 2026/27 Season, Assistant Principal Scale is $170.97 per service, and Section Scale is $155.42 per service.
