conducts Brahms

Clayton Stephenson takes on Beethoven's Fifth Piano Concerto, a piece both heroic and tragic. Framing the program are Hannah Kendall’s 2017 The Spark Catchers—inspired by a poem of the same name about women match makers in the 1880s—and Johannes Brahms' rich autumnal, noble, and heart-rending Fourth Symphony.

“Stephenson is not just a remarkable virtuoso, but a poet, a dramatist, and a master story-teller.”
—Gramophone
