Let's Symphony!

Let’s Symphony!

We’re so glad that you’re symphony-curious!

And we know what you’re thinking: is an evening at the symphony for me? We get it, and we know the feeling.

What we can confidently tell you is that no experience is like having 50+ highly trained, passionate musicians playing a beautifully composed piece together in a beautiful venue. It’s dramatic, complex, and awe-inspiring.

It also makes for a great date night, whether your date is your spouse, your best friend, your child, or your grandma. Going to the symphony is special.

We also know if you’re new to the Eugene Symphony concerts, you might have some questions so we’ve answered ones we hear often below.

Which concert should I go to?

Honestly, any of them. Concerts tend to have music from both modern composers (women in their 30s and 40s!) and traditional composers. Read the descriptions on the concert pages, and see what intrigues you. Or, pick a date that works for you, and jump in!

What if I don’t know the music. Will I still enjoy the concert?

Yes! The music is powerful, the setting is beautiful, and you’ve escaped another night on the couch. What’s not to enjoy?

I like learning about things before I go. How can I learn about the concert I’m going to?

On each concert page, you’ll find the setlist (“program” in symphony-speak), soloists, and, in many cases, educational podcasts relevant to the concert. You can also find most music online if you want to preview it. On concert night, join us for the pre-concert talk from 6:30pm-7pm.

What do I wear?

Whatever you would like! After all, this is still Eugene. You can get all gussied up for a night on the town or come in shorts, Birks, and white socks. We won’t judge. Dress in a manner that helps you enjoy the show.

How do I buy tickets?

Tickets for Eugene Symphony concerts are available via the Hult Center Box office.

Where should I sit?

Are you the type that wants to see the conductor and musicians up close? Head for the “Orchestra” section (you’ll be on the main floor, not in the orchestra!) Are you also in it for the people watching? Maybe consider the Mezzanine or Balcony.

On a budget? Choose the amount you’re willing to pay (starts at $15 for adults and $10 for children) and let the Hult Center select the best seat(s) available at that price. Click on “Choose My Seat For Me” on the Hult Center site to use this feature.

Please join us at the “Unofficial Afterparty” at Manifest Brewing (across 7th) after the concert.

Kids are welcome at our concerts. Student tickets are just $10 for our season concerts.

Catch the free pre-concert talk from 6:30-7pm at the Hult Center. An usher will direct you.

Drinks and snacks are available in the lobby. You’re welcome to take them to your seat.
