Evynne Hollens
Evynne Hollens is a singer, writer, and artistic director with a passion for bringing communities together through the arts. She is especially passionate about family programming as an integral part of arts education and is thrilled to be hosting the Eugene Symphony’s new family concert series, bringing music to audiences of all ages.
Born and raised in Eugene, Oregon, Hollens grew up immersed in the local arts scene, which has remained a cornerstone of her career. After performing on Broadway and amassing over 58 million views on YouTube, and 115,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, Evynne now proudly calls Eugene home once again, where she resides with her husband, Peter Hollens, and their two children.
A former Duck, Hollens co-founded Divisi, the University of Oregon’s award-winning a cappella group, featured in the best-selling book & inspiration for the film Pitch Perfect. She is deeply involved in the local arts community, frequently performing with the Eugene Symphony, Oregon Contemporary Theatre, and The Shedd Institute for the Arts, where she created The Contemporary Songbook Project, a Broadway-style concert series currently in its 10th year.
In addition to her local work, she is co-writing Mija, a bilingual musical inspired by a miraculous true story, alongside Grammy-winning artist Gaby Moreno, Portland singer-songwriter Anna Gilbert, and Seattle playwright Rebecca Touriño Collinsworth.
