Private Lesson Program

[Available to Eugene, Springfield, and Bethel School Districts]

Nominations are currently open for the 2023/24 School Year.

Eugene Symphony's Private Lesson Program is a lesson scholarship opportunity for students who otherwise do not have the opportunity to study music with a private instructor. Participating students are nominated by their school music educators. Each selected student receives a private lesson scholarship consisting of ten (10) free lessons with an Eugene Symphony teaching artist. Students also receive a modest stipend to go towards music supplies, as well as have the opportunity to attend Eugene Symphony performances. Open to students of all ages and abilities.

A partnership between Eugene Symphony and Eugene/Springfield NAACP Branch #1119, the NAACP Scholarship Opportunity dedicates a portion of all lesson scholarships to BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) students.

The 2023/24 Private Lesson Program is generously supported by the Cow Creek Umpqua Indian Foundation, Safeway Foundation, and is Co-Sponsored by CSI Payroll Tax funded City of Eugene Rec Youth and Teen Empowerment Programs.

Eugene Symphony Association Inc receives support for this program from the Oregon Arts Commission, a state agency funded by the State of Oregon and the National Endowment for the Arts.
