We begin a brand-new tradition of ringing in the new year at the Eugene Symphony. Joined by worldwide YouTube sensations Peter and Evynne Hollens and other special guests, Francesco and the orchestra will surprise and delight you with Broadway hits, Strauss waltzes, and George Gershwin’s eternal An American in Paris. Plus, stick around after the concert for dancing in the lobby or a jazz lounge in Soreng Theater, and raise a toast to 2023 at midnight!

New Year's Eve Celebration Overview

Doors open at 7:30 pm, so arrive early to visit with us and enjoy a special signature cocktail before the concert begins. At 8:30 pm, our New Year's Eve Concert will begin, featuring Eugene Symphony and guest vocalists, Peter and Evynne Hollens.

Program highlights include:

  • Favorites from The Sound of Music
  • George Gershwin's An American in Paris
  • Strauss waltzes
  • Lin-Manuel Miranda's "You'll Be Back" from Hamilton
  • Stephen Sondheim's "Children Will Listen" from Into the Woods
  • "Beauty and the Beast" from Beauty and the Beast
  • The classic Auld Lang Syne

As the concert ends around 10:30 pm, join us in the Hult Center lobby for libations, including a special signature cocktail, and an opportunity to get your dance on thanks to our DJ. Or, if you prefer a more relaxed and low-key experience before our midnight festivities, we will have a Jazz lounge in the Soreng Theater featuring local Jazz musicians. Then, at midnight, we will gather to experience a special and exciting surprise as we raise our glasses to the new year! It's the New Year's Eve party that you don't want to miss.

Peter Hollens is an American entrepreneur, educator, and is best known as a classically trained vocal artist specializing in a cappella music on Youtube and Facebook. With over 5 million followers and subscribers on his content and over a billion total views since 2011. Hollens was a founding member of the YouTube creator advisory board and advises many companies including Patreon, Loudr, and Tubular. Hollens has collaborated and performed with many outstanding artists including David Archuleta, Brian Wilson, Jason Mraz, Hunter Hayes, Gladys Knight, Lindsey Stirling, George Watsky, Jackie Evancho, and ThePianoGuys.

He has released over 160+ digital singles and continues to release new music every other week.

In December of 2017, Hollens launched his digital education platform, Creator Education. A robust, online education video series that teaches aspiring creators the key entrepreneurship skills and strategies needed to live their passion in the digital age. Hollens’ first course, How to Make a Living Online, has over 1,000 students and is also being taught at American Universities.

Evynne Hollens is a singer, writer and artistic director primarily known for her online videos & live performances. With over 50 million views on YouTube, and over 115,000 monthly Spotify listeners, she releases music videos; from original content, to popular musical theatre and Disney covers. Evynne is the co-owner and Artistic Director of One Voice Productions, a digital media company that creates entertainment and educational content.

After 4 years performing at sea with Royal Caribbean Productions, she co-created and is featured onscreen in Voices, a virtual & live a cappella show, currently running on the largest theatrical venue at sea, RCCL’s Wonder of the Seas. In the 2017 Holiday season, Evynne made her Broadway debut as a featured performer alongside her husband, digital creator and educator, Peter Hollens, in Home for the Holidays, a LIVE Christmas concert at The August Wilson Theatre.

In 2001 Hollens co-founded Divisi, the University of Oregon’s award-winning female identifying a cappella group, featured in the best-selling book & inspiration for the film Pitch Perfect. She won a Contemporary A Cappella Recording Award for “Best Arrangement” of Divisi’s popular cover of Usher’s “YEAH!” which was featured on the Season 2 Finale episode of Glee.

A proud member of Actors’ Equity and native of the Pacific Northwest, Evynne currently resides in Eugene, Oregon with her husband and two children. She can be found on many stages, from The Hult Center with the Eugene Symphony, to Oregon Contemporary Theatre and regularly at The Shedd Institute for the Arts where she has created The Contemporary Songbook Project, a musical revue-style concert series celebrating the best of the new generation of songwriters working in the world of post-modern musical theatre.

A proud member of Actors' Equity, Evynne is currently writing a bilingual musical entitled Milagro, inspired by a miraculous true story, with Portland based singer-songwriter Anna Gilbert, Latin-Grammy winning artist Gaby Moreno and Seattle playwright Rebecca Tourino Collinsworth.
